Pegasus, the white winged horse
A creature that can take us from land to air
There’s many myths of how they were created
From the ancient Greeks and throughout time
No one really knows for sure, but
Many are familiar with Zeus for Hercules
This childhood tale, Pegasus is the hero’s
Best friend as well as personal steed
As a gift for Zeus’ newborn son
It’s kindness in story brings forth
A different perspective than gallant
Image from a distance in the sky
Or the stars in the night sky
What makes this creature so magical?
Is it the unexplained beauty?
No, it’s image of freedom to all
