I want to support original music
Someone who took the time to write
People that worked together to make
Something that sounds just right
It’s rare to find music that I don’t like
I do find myself deciding between
Original hits for what sounds best
When you sing a cover, you’re matching
What everyone expects with something new
When you sing an original, you’re creating
A new experience to delve into
Even then, if they know you for covers
It can be hard to exceed expectations with
Originals unless you can lead listeners
To understand the context of the original
So is it worth it? I could only imagine
As I’m a listener who writes in
Other kinds of mediums
From my perspective,
It’s always worth it
