30 Poems, 30 Days 2021: Grief Rose (Day 25)

It starts with a thought, spun into a rose

A distant memory emerges like raindrops

First months struggling with management

Painful like the thorns picking at fingertips

Words that were said and words not heard

Dream shaken into tinted colors everywhere

Brought forward what was broken within

For a voice to emerge to advocate changes

Time could tell frozen into silent numbness

Moments not interested, poor concentration

Triggers of the past that flowed many fountains

Wonder if they would be proud of overcoming

What was set up to make you fail made you

Who you were meant to be, grief grows roses
