He gave her a small strange seed

She didn’t know what it was

She looked at all the books

Checked everything online

There was nothing to be found

She didn’t have anything for plants

She had a mug that he had given

Weeks ago that she loved

The seed fit perfectly

With the dirt from the yard

A cut from a shovel borrowed

She wrapped the cut on her thumb

She turned back to find the seed

Had magically grown to be

A small plant bright green

That she quickly watered

Later the mug snug in her hands

She sat near the window with rays

The plant stood tall and strong

Sent hope that she was needed

Exactly what he wanted
